“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:17
We are an organization established to inspire anglers to serve others through generous giving and inspirational leadership. Fishing is a game we love and iFish4Life.org provides a way for us to help others while enjoying the sport of fishing.
That is what iFish4Life.org is all about – Fishing…Catching…Giving!
(Presently, our system is setup to primarily facilitate bass fisherman, ie, largemouth, smallmouth, spotted, etc. We do have plans to expand to accommodate other species. Feel free to signup to our mailing list for updates)
What is iFIsh4Life.org?
iFish4Life.org was started by anglers with the purpose of bringing awareness to the great needs in the world around us. It is our desire to help other non-profit organizations and their missions by contributing to them financially while enjoying the game we all enjoy: FISHING!
iFish4Life.org combines two passions of my passions: fishing and people. The combination of my love for the game of fishing and my competitive nature led me to develop an organization that fed both passions. iFish4Life.org became a way that I could help people. Now each fishing trip is more than a “good time” on the water, it is a chance to change someone’s life!
How does iFIsh4Life.org help people?
Because of the nature of my job, I am constantly in contact with viable and creditable non-profit organizations that have amazing missions to help and serve people. iFish4Life.org does not accept donations from anglers for the organization they want to give to, instead it acts as a “bridge” between organizations that help others and the sport we all enjoy. Members can give to one of our featured organizations OR to any organization they would like to support.
What does it mean to join iFIsh4Life.org?
Simple. When an angler goes fishing and catches fish, they commit to give to a charity that iFish4Life.org has featured OR to a charity of their choice.
“You mean, when I go fishing and catch fish, I have to give money to someone?”
Yep. That’s right. But look at it this way, when you catch a fish, someone gets a meal. Someone gets some much needed water, shelter, or medical attention. I like to see it as an excuse to GIVE. When I know that someone else is going to benefit when I catch a fish, I am actually more motivated to catch fish. I am not just fishing for the sake of catching, I am fishing to help others!
What are the different ways we calculate our giving after we catch a fish?
Presently there are four ways you can record (weigh-in) your catch:
- MLF Style: Give $1 for every fish caught on your trip.
- MLF Style Advanced: Give $1 for every pound of fish caught on your trip.
- B.A.S.S. Style: Give $1 for every pound of your top-five fish.
- Kayak Style: Give $0.25 for every inch of top-five fish.
Calculations are automatically made during your “weigh-in” on this site. You will also have the opportunity to give above the standard amounts if desired.
How do I join?
Fill out a membership form. It can be found HERE.
How does iFish4Life.org know when I catch fish?
We use the HONOR system. Members are asked to report (weigh-in) their catches on the iFish4Life.org website via a simple form. We will keep weigh-in totals updated on the site so we can all see how much we are doing to help those in need. iFish4Life.org DOES NOT receive the donations directly from the anglers, instead anglers are directed to our featured organization’s website where they can give directly to the organization OR and to a charity of their choice.
Is iFish4Life.org a fishing team?
No. We are just a bunch of anglers that have committed to give when we catch a fish!
Again, thanks for your interest in joining this growing organization.
Tight lines and God bless!
